Today more than ever, delicious foods are geared at providing healthy benefits in a scrumptious dish that will be a favorite for years to come. Fried chili chicken is a delicious blend of healthy chicken spiced to perfect without the unnecessary additions of added fat or sugar. <br/><br/>Instead of depending on additives that enhance the flavor of the meal, this is one meal that takes simple ingredients and makes them into one dish easy to fix and enjoyed by everyone. Take a closer look at why this is a favorite in my house! <br/><br/>Fried Chili Chicken <br/><br/>Ingredients: <br/><br/>2 tbsp flour <br/>¼ tsp cayenne <br/>1 tsp chili powder <br/>½ tsp ground cumin <br/>½ tsp dried oregano <br/>½ tsp garlic powder <br/>½ tsp salt <br/>4 chicken breasts, cubed <br/>3 tbsp vegetable oil <br/>1 onion, chopped <br/>2 cups chicken broth <br/>¼ cup chili powder <br/>1 tbsp hot New Mexico chili powder <br/>1 tsp ground cumin <br/>1 tsp dried oregano <br/>20oz can pinto beans, drained <br/><br/>Directions: <br/><br/>In a plastic bag: mix the flour, cayenne, chili powder, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, and salt and toss together. Add the chicken cubes and shake until evenly coated with the spice mixture. <br/><br/>Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a large skillet and cook the chicken, turning as needed until chicken is lightly browned, set aside. Heat the remaining oil in the same skillet and sauté for 5 minutes. Put the chicken &amp; onion mixture in a large saucepan with the chicken broth. <br/><br/>Add all remaining ingredients &#8211; except pinto beans &#8211; bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour (add water if needed). Add the beans, taste and adjust seasonings if needed. <br/><br/>Tip: this is a hot temperature chili! Hard crust country bread, thick sliced, lightly sprinkled with oil and toasted or grilled is all you&#8217;ll need with this spicy chicken chili. <br/><br/>Dry soup: many Mexican dishes feature bread or tortillas that are soaked in a sauce until the dish resembles more a casserole or a heavy stew than a soup. In Mexico, they refer to these dishes as dry soups. <br/><br/>Canned or fresh peppers: with the ever growing interest in Mexican cuisine across the USA, you will likely find be able to find fresh chilies to meet the needs for your cooking. However, if you must use canned, plan to use about half as much as you would of fresh because the peppers become more packed during the canning process. <br/><br/>When I make this for my family, I try using more goodness by using fresh peppers toasted to perfection. In addition, you will find it is easy to make pinto beans in the Crockpot while at work. This is a great way to insure you are not getting added sodium from canned beans. Also, I can choose the herbs and spices my family loves. You can, of course, find your own! <br/><br/>Fried chili chicken offers an exceptional recipe that is easy to make and tastes absolutely delicious. A favorite in my house, you will find that this can be a favorite in yours too. <br/><br/></div>

You are able to use healthy recipes to learn to utilize foods to lower your risk of heart disease, diabetes, and some cancers. <br/><br/>By using healthy recipes utilizing any freshly grown local produce; preferably organic, pesticide free; where possible, eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Use the least amount of salt and sugar; where possible eliminate both, for your heart&#8217;s sake. Most fruits do not need sugar added, and most vegetables do not need salt. <br/><br/>Learn to eat less sweets and use Splenda, a natural sugar replacement as often as possible in healthy recipes, in order to keep sugar intake lower, and sea salt in place of regular table salt, to keep our intake of processed iodized salt. Packaged and canned products are usually heavily salted or sugared and it is not necessary &#8211; our bodies just do not need it. Choose light and low sugared and salted canned foods if you must. <br/><br/>Learn to read labels of packaged or processed foods, often the &#8220;healthy nutritious&#8221; part of the food has been taken out of the actual food by the time it reaches our mouths &#8211; home made healthy grown food, used in healthy recipes tastes much better than processed foods. It has been recommended that we use non-hydrogenated oils in our foods and stay away from as much animal fat as possible. <br/><br/>Using healthy meat in recipes means we use grain fed, pesticide free organic meats. It may cost a little more, and you may have to order ahead of date required (ie. organically fed &#8211; free range birds and free range organically fed cows). It is highly recommended for your good health as these animals will not have been fed anti-biotics, which normally would pass through the meat and into our bloodstreams as we eat the meat; thereby enabling our systems to build up anti-immunities to these drugs. The more we eat those antibiotic filled meats, the more anti-biotics become immune to new and old diseases. Stay with organic meats!! <br/><br/>Learning to eat healthfully by using foods that are pesticide free, organically fresh, locally grown, and not genetically altered, will show you not only the benefits of a healthy body, but a healthy mind. <br/><br/>Finally, learning to use healthful foods to benefit our healthy recipes, choose to using these recipes as a canvas and you be the painter. Healthful foods need not be boring or complicated or take ages to make. Using a healthful recipe is a creation of art, and especially so, when you learn the benefits of and what constitutes healthy eating. <br/></div>

Below are some of healthy popcorn recipes that can meet your daily needs, for a delicious and quick snack mixture. <br/><br/>Peppy Popcorn <br/><br/>Preparation Time: 10 minutes <br/><br/>Ingredients: <br/><br/>14 cups popcorn, air-popped <br/>2 tbsp. parmesan cheese, grated <br/>1/4 tsp. dried oregano <br/>2 tsp. paprika <br/><br/>In a small bowl, mix oregano, paprika and cheese. Sprinkle these onto the popcorn and toss. It can yield up to 14 cups. You can also melt organic raw cheese with organic milk and pour this over the popcorn. <br/><br/>Nutrition Data for 1 cup serving: 30 calories/0.5 grams fat <br/>Spicy Peanut Curry PopCorn <br/>Preparation time: 10 minutes <br/>Number of serving: 1 <br/></div>
<div>Ingredients: <br/>8 cups air-popped popcorn( no oil or salt) <br/>1 teaspoon chili paste (Sambal Oelek) <br/>2 tablespoons Better than Peanut Butter <br/>1 teaspoon curry powder <br/><br/>Air-pop about ½ cup of corn kernels. Put peanut butter on a microwave cup. Add sambal with small amounts of water. Stir in order to make out a creamy and thick peanut butter mixture. Microwave it approximately 30 seconds. Fold the peanut butter mixture onto the popcorn. <br/><br/>Praline Popcorn Crunch <br/><br/>Ingredients: <br/><br/>12 cups popped popcorn <br/>1/2 cup margarine <br/>1 cup firm-pack brown sugar <br/>1/2 teaspoon vanilla <br/>1/4 cup honey <br/>1 cup pecan halves <br/>1/2 teaspoon baking soda <br/><br/>Grease a 15&#215;10 inch baking pan and place the popcorn on top. Combine sugar, honey and margarine in a 1 ½ quart saucepan. Cook and stir constantly with a wooden spoon. Place this in medium heat until it boils. <br/><br/>Cook this for about 5 minutes and then remove from the heat. Mix vanilla and baking soda then pour it over the popped corn. Next, add some pecans, stir until evenly coated and bake at 300 degrees for about 15 minutes. Stir gently for five more minutes and lay everything down on waxed paper. Lastly, allow to cool and break into chunks. <br/><br/>Popcorn Trail Mix <br/><br/>Full Recipe: 1 quart <br/>Yield: 3 cups <br/><br/>Ingredients: <br/>1 quart air-popped popcorn <br/>8 ounces raisins <br/>6 ounces dried fruit (apricots, apples, etc.), diced <br/><br/>Add diced fruit and raisins to a large bowl of popped corn. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>In the hussle and bussle of today&#8217;s world, finding and preparing easy and healthy recipes for kids can be a struggle! And then when you find them, there is so much that can goes into them: planning the menu, making the grocery list, driving to the store, doing the shopping, checking out in the long line, paying the bill, and driving home not to mention preparing the meal and sitting down to feast on your hard work. <br/><br/>Without missing a beat, the inevitable always seems to happen&#8230;the complaints. <br/><br/>&#8220;I don&#8217;t like this&#8221;. <br/>&#8220;This looks weird&#8221;. <br/>&#8220;I don&#8217;t like this color.&#8221; <br/>&#8220;I want pizza!&#8221; <br/>&#8220;Can I have a cookie instead?&#8221; <br/><br/>Nutrition plays a vital role in our children&#8217;s development, and we know this. But how easy is it to just grab a frozen pizza and call it a day! While tempting as it sounds, it&#8217;s our responsibility as parents to find healthy recipes for kids that can be prepared and enjoyed at the family table. <br/><br/>Below are a few healthy recipes for kids that have been a hit at my own family table. But before I get to them, let&#8217;s first discuss some tips on helping us plan some healthy recipes for kids and ways to get our kids excited for them! <br/><br/>1) Make a quick list of the foods your children love, hate, and are allergic to. With this in mind, it will be easy to pinpoint the recipes you&#8217;re targeting and onto the healthy recipes for kids your family will love. <br/><br/>2) When kids are invested in a project, they are more readily accepting. Find healthy recipes for kids that your family can contribute to. For example, get your kids involved in the selection of the recipes, let them help with the shopping, or get the kids help in preparing the meal and setting the table. <br/><br/>3) Select one new vegetable, fruit, or food to try each week. Make it a game with your kids. They may love it or hate it, but it will teach them to be open to new foods and experiences at the table. <br/><br/>With these tips in mind, here are a few healthy recipes for kids that have been a hit with my own. Give them a try and see if this could be a meal your family will love! <br/><br/>Healthy Recipes for Kids #1: Oven-Baked Carrot Fries <br/><br/>My kids love these healthy fries! <br/><br/>Oven-Baked Carrot Fries <br/><br/>1 ½ lbs. Carrots <br/>1 tsp. Sugar <br/>2 T Olive Oil <br/>½ tsp. Salt <br/>2 T Fresh Rosemary, finely chopped <br/>Pinch of Pepper <br/><br/>Preheat your oven to 425 degrees and line a shallow pan with foil. Peel each carrot and cut off the tip and the end off of each one. Cut carrots in half cross-wise, then cut length-wise, then cut length-wise again. <br/><br/>Combine the carrot sticks, olive oil, salt, pepper, and rosemary and stir until they are evenly coated. Spread the carrots over the pan as much as possible. <br/><br/>Bake your carrots for about 20 minutes or until carrots are tender. Serve them hot or cool them a bit to room temperature. <br/><br/>Healthy Recipes for Kids #2: Chicken Tortilla Soup <br/><br/>This is a family favorite and is easy on Mom and Dad in both the prep and the clean-up! <br/><br/>Chicken Tortilla Soup <br/>½ Onion, chopped <br/>½ tsp. Garlic, minced <br/>4 tsp. Cilantro, chopped <br/>1 T Butter <br/>30 oz. Chicken Stock <br/>8 oz. can Tomato Sauce <br/>½ package of Taco Seasoning <br/>14 oz. can Mexican Style or Plain Stewed Tomatoes <br/>4 ½ oz. can Diced Green Chilis <br/>1 small can of Corn, drained <br/>1T Worchestire Sauce <br/>4 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts (these can be frozen) <br/><br/>Put all the ingredients into a Crock Pot and cook on low for 8 hours. A half an hour prior to serving, pull out the chicken and shred. Put the chicken back into the soup and cook the remainder of the time (half an hour). <br/><br/>Serve with cheese, tortilla chips, avocado, and sour cream. <br/><br/>Healthy Recipes for Kids #3: Baked Spaghetti <br/><br/>Baked Spaghetti <br/>1 lb. lean Ground Beef <br/>10 oz. Whole Wheat Spaghetti <br/>2 C Mozzarella Cheese, shredded <br/>2 26 oz. jars of your favorite Spaghetti Sauce (make sure your sauce contains healthy ingredients and no sugars) <br/><br/>Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray. <br/><br/>In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, drain and mix in your spaghetti sauce to the ground beef. <br/><br/>Prepare your pasta according to the packaged directions and drain. <br/><br/>Spoon one-third of your spaghetti sauce mixture into the bottom of your prepared pan and then mix the remaining spaghetti sauce mixture with the cooked spaghetti. Pour into the prepared pan and then top with the shredded cheese. <br/><br/>Bake for 25-35 minutes until brown and bubbly. Let baked spaghetti rest for about 10-15 minutes before serving. Serve with a healthy salad and garlic bread. Enjoy! <br/></div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>Chinese-style meals are not only tasty, they are usually quick, easy, inexpensive and healthy. In my vintage recipe collection I have two great recipes to share. <br/><br/>Chicken and Vegetables Chinese is definitely a recipe that has the above mentioned attributes. It is easy to make, doesn&#8217;t take much time, the ingredients aren&#8217;t expensive, and it makes six servings of only 200 calories each. That&#8217;s a pretty good deal! <br/><br/>CHICKEN AND VEGETABLES CHINESE <br/>1 lb boneless, skinned chicken cut into 1 1/2&#8243; pieces <br/>2 cans chicken broth or 4 to 5 chicken bouillon cubes dissolved in 3 cups boiling water <br/>1/2 cup raw rice <br/>2 tbsp soy sauce <br/>1/4 tsp ground ginger <br/>2 cups sliced carrots <br/>1 cup sliced green onions <br/>1 small can chinese vegetables, drained <br/>1/2 cup cooking sherry <br/>1 clove minced garlic <br/>1/4 tsp sage <br/>1/2 cup sliced celery <br/>1/2 cup sliced green pepper (bell pepper) <br/>6-oz pkg frozen pea pods or peas <br/><br/>Brown chicken in a large Pam sprayed pan. Add broth, rice, sherry, soy sauce, garlic and ginger. Simmer, covered, 15 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until tender. Makes 6 servings of about 200 calories each. <br/><br/>Sweet and Sour Pork slow cooks for one hour but otherwise is a quick recipe. Again, it is not expensive, it is easy and again, it is a healthy meal. <br/><br/>SWEET AND SOUR PORK <br/><br/>1 lb pork tenderloin, cut into strips <br/>oil for browning <br/>1/3 cup water <br/>1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch <br/>1/3 cup brown sugar <br/>1/3 cup vinegar <br/>3/4 cup pineapple juice <br/>2 tsp soy sauce <br/>1 cup sliced mushrooms <br/>2 cups pineapple chunks <br/>1 green pepper, cut in strips <br/><br/>Brown pork in oil. Add water and cook slowly for 1 hour. Add cornstarch, brown sugar, vinegar, pineapple juice, and soy sauce; mix well. Simmer 15 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 5 minutes. Serve over rice. <br/><br/>Enjoy! <br/><br/>Brown pork in oil. Add water and cook slowly for 1 hour. Add cornstarch, brown sugar, vinegar, pineapple juice, and soy sauce; mix well. Simmer 15 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 5 minutes. Serve over rice. <br/></div>

The thing that I like about this artsy model of eating is that salads can be made with many different things in them, they can have or not have meat in them, they can be whipped up in no time, and generally speaking; they consist of healthy foods. <br/><br/>The only time that a person may run into trouble is at Salad Bars. Many offer a wide variety of greens,fresh vegetables, fruits; certainly, consumer may create his own salad, BUT, the problem arises when the temptation of too many foods offered to eat; foods are often over-exposed to flies and other disease carrying pests; and there is a risk of food poisoning from salad items allowed to stand at room temperatures for more than an hour or two. I say stay away from salad bars. The dressings are high in calories and one tends to use much to much dressing. What is our option? Eat a home-made healthy salad recipe. <br/><br/>Home made healthy salad recipes are so much better; we can choose to buy organic lettuces, and salad ingredients. If we use eggs, once again, range free organic eggs. Fresh fruit salads, once again do your best in purchasing local healthily grown organic fruits. A person will find they use less dressing than usual if the salad tastes good! And we can make our own dressings, vinaigrette&#8217;s, using fresh herbs and spices and a good extra-virgin olive oil. <br/><br/>The healthiest salad is likely one with dark green lettuce leaves, well washed and patted dry and place in the refrigerator until ready to make the actual salad, as this little secret will give you crispy lettuce. Break into smaller chunks when ready to use. Add remainder of ingredients. Just before serving, <br/><br/>pour your dressing (vinaigrette) onto the salad and toss gently until lettuce leaves and salad is covered. Serve your salad . Always use an attractive salad bowl, as it makes the food more appetizing. <br/><br/>Should you want your healthy salad recipe to be the main course, then there are a multitude of healthy additions you can add to the salad. Nuts, grains, almonds slices, sunflower seeds unsalted, artichoke, avocados,parsley, In some healthy salad recipes, deli meat is added, cut into small pieces, or even chicken pieces &#8211; the healthy salad recipe is at your fingertips!</div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>We all know that we need to eat better but isn&#8217;t it frustrating that the healthier you try to eat the more money you seem to spend? It doesn&#8217;t have to be that way. Here are just a few tips to help you feed your family nutritious meals without breaking your budget. <br/><br/>1) Plan your meals around the sales. Stores routinely rotate sales items every 6 weeks so plan accordingly and stock up. Is chicken on sale this week? Instead of buying 1 pack purchase several packs, separate into family size portions and freeze. If you routinely purchased only what was on sale (besides the perishables you need each week) you will soon have a well stocked freezer and pantry as well as a smaller grocery bill. <br/><br/>2) Avoid purchasing boxed foods. Most boxed foods are full of preservatives and trans fats so it is best to avoid them. Do you like the convenience of boxed foods? There are several good cookbooks and recipes online for making homemade mixes to keep on hand. Everything from homemade cookie mix to macaroni and cheese and more. Put these mixes in a pretty jar with the directions to prepare and it also makes a nice frugal gift! <br/><br/>3) Use coupons wisely. How many times have you gone to the store with a fist full of coupons only to come home spending more than you planned? The key to saving with coupons is to only purchase the items you would normally use anyway. You will also find that the store brand may still be the better bargain. An even better idea is to hold onto that coupon and wait for the item you want to go on sale. <br/><br/>4) Do a coupon exchange. Check with family and friends who get the Sunday paper and exchange coupons for ones you can use. That way you can really stock up when your favorite items are on sale and you have coupons. <br/><br/>5) Buy produce in season. It will taste much better and you will usually pay less. Also in the warmer months be sure to take advantage of farmers markets for low prices on produce. Buy items like peppers and onions when on sale, chop them and freeze them for quick recipes during the week. Zucchini can be shredded and frozen for zucchini bread and other recipes. <br/><br/>6) Make your grocery list and stick to it. Beware of those impulse buys! <br/><br/>7) Shop after dinner. You wont be tempted to pick up take out because you are too tired and hungry to cook when you get home. <br/><br/> <img src='http://dialhforhomo.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif' alt='8)' class='wp-smiley' /> Shop alone. Nothing blows a budget quicker than when your kids are with you! You will also get out of the store much quicker which will actually save you money. <br/><br/>9) When buying meat think of recipes where you can get more than one meal out of it. Meatsauce is still satisfying with half the amount of ground beef. Slice up other cuts of meat for stir fries or to put on top of a nice salad and you have a quick healthy meal. <br/><br/>10) Don&#8217;t be loyal to just one store. Most grocery stores have certain items priced really low to get your business. If you have several grocery stores in your area try and take advantage of what deals each store has to offer. <br/><br/>11) Have breakfast for dinner once in a while. An omelette, toast and fresh fruit is very economical and very quick to cook on a busy night. <br/><br/>These are just a few tips to help you save money while eating better.
